Under the visionary leadership of Artistic Director Dr. Charles Beale, the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus (SDGMC) marks an extraordinary milestone: 40 years of transforming lives, one voice at a time. As one of the largest gay men’s choruses in the world—with over 100 active members and a legacy of 300 alumni—SDGMC has performed on some of the most prestigious stages, from the White House to the Super Bowl to Lincoln Center.
SDGMC’s mission is to create powerful and uplifting musical experiences that captivate audiences, foster community, and ignite social change. With every performance, they connect, inspire, and challenge—nurturing artistic growth among their members, raising cultural awareness around social issues, and serving as a dynamic catalyst for individual and collective transformation.
As they celebrate four decades of harmony, the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus continues to exemplify the power of music as a force for joy, connection, and meaningful change.

In January 2025, Southern California experienced a devastating tragedy with the Palisades and Eaton Fires, which destroyed homes, claimed lives, and displaced countless residents. This video is a heartfelt tribute to the strength and resilience of those affected by these fires.
The San Diego Gay Men's Chorus stands in solidarity with the impacted communities, sending love, support, and hope as they rebuild and heal. We dedicate this performance to everyone facing these challenges, and we hope our music brings a moment of comfort and unity.
